When preparing your summer retreat, let nostalgic touches bring interesting appeal to your decor.  They can be less than perfect.  It absolutely does NOT matter.  When you incorporate these vintage objects into you decor, they add that WOW that pre-fabbed-perfect pieces are missing. 

Re-think! 

Re-think common or vintage items.  Do not be afraid to find them in consignment stores, re-sale shops. Even if you are not an antique buff, you can still browse the antique malls.  Think about replacing something in your home with a new/old treasure that you find interesting.  Don't worry about it looking worn and chippy.  Maybe it is something that you have seen  and fell in love with but thought you just had no place for it.  Re-think it!   It does not mean you have disregarded one of the original piece.  You have just allowed yourself to make your displays more fun and meaningful.   Try it.  Just switch things around a little.
